Games fair attracts even more visitors: Gamescom 2018 breaks last year's record

More visitors, more exhibitors - the Gamescom exposition in Cologne has again surpassed its previous year's records and asserted itself as the world's most important gaming trade fair.

World premieres at Gamescom

The world's largest event for computer and video games was launched with several world premieres by international publishers like Bandai Namco Entertainment Europe S.A.S., Koch Media and its publishing labels Deep Silver, Square Enix, THQ Nordic and Ubisoft.

This year, for the first time, game fans from all over the world had the opportunity to experience some of the most exciting highlights live: »Experience Gamescom live« continuously showed live streams, videos, news and all episodes of Gamescom TV compressed on one channel and thus ensured a virtual expansion of Gamescom.

Numerous events at Gamescom complemented the range of gaming products and thus provided the right offer for the various target groups. These included the top developer event »Devcom« and the eSports and marketing format »SPOBIS Gaming & Media«. The Gamescom Congress attracted around 870 visitors with a varied programme and political discussions. The week traditionally ended with the Gamescom City Festival. From Friday to Sunday, the city centre of Cologne was dominated by music, street food, games, information and entertainment.

Next year Gamescom will take place from Tuesday, 20 August to Saturday, 24 August 2018.
